04:30 am - TED Talk: J.J. Abrams
I'm not a fan of LOST- never felt motivated to watch it but I am a fan of my video podcast subscription to TED talks and after I listened to his talk I netflixed LOST season 1.
I loved his little blurb regarding writing and the beauty of Apple machines (7:55 mins - 8:16 mins) I think i'll use that challenge of: "What can i write that'll be worthy of my beautiful black macbook?"
Then he also mentioned about watching steve jobs' iphone keynote and I remember that I went to that MacWorld expo! :) http://onefilipino.multiply.com/photos/album/34/MacWorld_2007_revisited

03:33 pm - Angulo write up from PULP from PULP
"In my opinion, this year's crop of WBOB participants showcases the next generation of the country's rock greats," says Angulo lead vocalist Niles Chong via a text message to PULP. Trying their luck the second time around at this year's WBOB, this five-man, melodic post-hardcore unit have a few aces under their studded belts, including countless gigs with the likes of Urbandub, Faspicth, Chicosci, and other kindred spirits not to mention an impressive and well-received set at this year's Pulp Summer Slam 7. Their longtime affiliation withe Kerplunk! Studios has also earned them some degree of recording know-how, although it doesn't hurt that urbandub singer Gabby Alipe has helmed the production of "Best Mistake" (a start-stop emo anthem along the same lines of last year's excellent "Sigaw Ng Puso"), as well as much-anticipated self-titled debut album which is due this year.
It's an awesome and humbling feeling to be part of that, and to be up against great young artists, many of who I consider as close friends, even brothers," continues Chong's SMS. We're all rooting for each other, in all honesty." But here's hoping that Angulo's listeners know who they should root for. Visit www.myspace.com/angulomusic if you want to root for them, too.

02:09 am - for Janet

You're Pale Fire!
by Vladimir Nabokov
You're really into poetry and the interpretation thereof. Along the road of life, you have had several identity crises which make it very unclear who you are, let alone how to interpret poetry. You probably came from a foreign country, but then again you seem foreign to everyone in ways unrelated to immigration. Most people think you're quite funny, but maybe you're just sick. Talking to you ends up being much like playing a round of the popular board game Clue.
Take the Book Quiz at the Blue Pyramid.
btw i'm going to be in Singapore from Aug 1 (today!) to Aug 6 for the bay beats festival to cheer on our very own Urban Dub! :)
